Ice & Mixed Climbing in New Hampshire

From basic to advanced, from low angle to vertical, from valley to alpine, Synnott Mountain Guides has you covered for ice and mixed climbing instruction and guiding in the White Mountains.

Courses are conducted in a variety of locations including Cathedral Ledge, Frankenstein Cliff, Mount Willard, Huntington Ravine, and even Lake Willoughby...take your pick. You'll learn how to place screws, build anchors, and set v-threads. An important emphasis will be placed on assessing ice conditions and reading objective hazards. Whatever your level, we can help you to climb safer and harder. Looking to break into leading? We can help you to achieve that goal. Or let us guide you up a route you might not otherwise tackle, like The Black Dike, Omega, The Quartet Ice Hose, Repentence, Remission, Dropline or The Last Gentleman.

Or how about mixed climbing? Learn dry tooling, camming, stein pulling, etc. at one of several excellent newly developed cliffs in the area, such as Trollville, the Ice Mill, or the Eagle Cliff, from M4 to M8+. Or perhaps it’s the alpine realm that interests you? Let us take you up Pinnacle or Damnation Buttress in Huntington Ravine, or perhaps you’d like to sample a winter ascent on Cannon, such as the VMC Direct Direct, the Whitney Gilman Ridge or Wiessener’s Dike.
